Fabrication of the TPO membrane
The original roof of the agricultural cooperative in Vajnoř made of asphalt strips was long past its useful life, the roofing felt was cracked and locally repaired several times. These repairs were also no longer functional.
We carried out a complete renewal of the roof waterproofing, including the refurbishment of the skylights. Gradually all the glass panes were dismantled, the old sealant was removed, and the panes were returned to their original positions so that they did not rest on the waterproofing layer of the roof at the bottom.
It was not possible to anchor the new TPO roof membrane in the standard way - mechanically with screws, because the ceiling panels are extremely thin, about 5cm outside the ribs. Therefore, the KOSTER TPO 2.0 F variant was chosen with a centrally embedded glass fibre mesh and a laminated geotextile bottom layer, which is anchored by gluing.
The fleece layer is applied to the entire underside of the sheet during manufacture, outside the edges, which are welded together. This layer allows the adhesive to adhere firmly to the foil and bond it to the substrate. New gutter sheets have been installed around the entire perimeter of the roof. All penetrations, details, gutters and downspouts form a new waterproofing layer along with the TPO sheeting and repaired skylights that will last for several decades.
KOSTER TPO Foil 2.0 F has improved fire resistance properties and meets the requirements for direct adhesion to EPS insulation.
